Sump Pump & Disconnecting Weeping Tiles – Flooding Prevention Rebate
100% of the eligible costs invoiced, up to a maximum of $5000
Weeping tiles directly connected to the sanitary lateral on the private side can overload the system. As a result, risk of a sewer backup increased. In cases, a home built before 1970, likely requires the need to have the weeping tiles disconnected from the drain. Therefore, installing a sump pump will remove the water from around the foundation of the home. In result to this, the chances of water flooding are greatly decreased. Disconnecting Downspouts from the Sewer System – Flood Prevention Rebate
100% of all eligible costs invoiced, up to a maximum of $500
Downspouts connect to your eaves trough, collecting water from your roof, and drain it either to the ground or to a drain below the ground. A home that disconnects their downspouts, for instance, will reduce the amount of rainwater that gets into the sewer. As a result, this will reduce the risk of a backup.
